Marcus to reign on Active King

THERE'S no question in my mind who is ''King'' when it comes to riding the tight Happy Valley track.

Champion jockey Basil Marcus has proven over and over again that he is the force to be reckoned with when it comes to negotiating the city track.

When it comes to tonight's competitive final event, there can be no better team to follow than Marcus riding for the territory's leading trainer Ivan Allan, who are represented by Active King (Nap).

Marcus rode Active King last time out in a blanket finish with Super Structure, Bayview Boy, Jumble Pet and Classabove, all of whom reoppose again this evening.

Not only the revised weights will help Active King reverse the form with first-and second-placed Super Structure and Bayview Boy, so will the draw.

Marcus and Active King have a handy pitch on the inside and this will give the tactful South African an edge in knowing the game plans of the others from early on in the race.

Believe me, these little differences in the set-up of a race can quite easily change the outcome, especially with such a talented assortment of riders.
