Every actor wants to get a break in New York. Unfortunately, Daniel Wu Yin-cho got the wrong kind - a broken ankle.

It seems the Hong Kong star, who enrolled himself for acting classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, was skateboarding his way to classes one day when he had the accident.

His manager at the JC Group said the injury occurred about two weeks ago. 'He's walking with crutches now and hopefully he'll be back in Hong Kong after the first week of July,' the manager said.

Luckily for Wu, the accident happened at the tail end of his lessons, plus he also has no film or acting commitments in the meantime. However, the star of The Banquet and Protege will be out of commission for anything involving action for at least six months. 'At least one project was very interesting but we have to turn it down now. Also, we don't know what we might do in promoting Blood Brothers in July.'

Instead, Wu just has to rest up with his model girlfriend Lisa Selesner, who flew over to take care of him while he recovers. Nope, seems like we don't need to pity the guy too much.
