Chopper-wielding fisherman spared jail

A fisherman who attacked two anti-hawking officers with a chopper during a raid last month was ordered in Eastern Court yesterday to do 240 hours of community service. Principal Magistrate Garry Tallentire spared Ho Pui, 36, from imprisonment, saying the attacks were out of character, the injuries of the two officers were not serious and a sentence of 14 days in prison would devastate Ho's family.
