NGO seeks a seasoned building manager
A non-governmental organisation serving the needs of the community in housing and related services is looking for a top-notch building manager.
The Hong Kong Housing Society has many achievements. Notably, its nine new Property Management Advisory centres in the older districts to reach out to owners of dated properties.
The society's property management division is responsible for portfolio management, and for promoting best practices in building management and maintenance for the local populace.
The society needs a general manager for property management to lead the Building Management and Maintenance Scheme (BMMS) to help promote and improve building management and maintenance. 'Our role is very much like a 'social worker in housing',' said Peter Kuk Kwok-yung, corporate communications manager of the society.
Seasoned and experienced professionals with at least 15 years of experience in property management, including five years in a senior management position would be perfect for this appointment.
Candidates should also have a university degree plus professional qualifications in housing management. An MBA is preferred.
The property management division started the BMMS in 2005 to address the problem of urban decay. The society has budgeted HK$4billion for technical and financial assistance for property owners who need such help.
