TWO men appeared in Western Court yesterday charged with trafficking and conspiracy to traffic in dangerous drugs.

The two were among 17 people taken into custody after raids by police investigating a distribution ring for the drug ''ice''.

Noel Infante and Salic Didato, both 33, were remanded in custody for two weeks. No pleas were taken.

Eight of the 17 - five Filipinas, a Filipino and two Chinese men - were last night charged with either trafficking or possession of drugs.

The remaining seven, including a Nepalese Gurkha with the British Army and a Filipino who claimed to be working undercover for the Philippine police, were released on police bail.

Seven credit cards believed to be stolen were seized from a flat in Des Voeux Road, Central, yesterday in connection with the operation.

What appeared to be an AR-15 rifle seized from one flat on Tuesday turned out to be an imitation.
