My HK - Alfred Cheung Kin-ting
Alfred Cheung Kin-ting, filmmaker
'The local film industry was declining in 1997. At that time, I had just finished a comedy starring Stephen Chow Sing-chi. The poor governance under chief executive Tung Chee-hwa prompted me to undertake several changes: I spent two years flying between the United States and Hong Kong, and made a Hollywood production. I also started my catering business, which inspired me to become a corporate trainer, improving people's presentation skills.
'I think I should thank Mr Tung for messing up Hong Kong, which forced me to come up with new business ideas even during such adversity.'
