There is a Chinese saying: 'People are naked when they are born and can take nothing with them when they die.'

We only live once and it is important that we don't waste our life.

Many people commit suicide because they are frustrated. We should make our lives more meaningful and try to do the best we can.

So how can we achieve fulfilment?

The most effective way is to pursue our dreams.

Otherwise, we will be very sad over the missed opportunities as we grow old.

Thanks for writing in, Hok-kan. I like that saying, that we are born naked and can take nothing with us when we die. It's good to be reminded that our possessions aren't very important.

But don't forget that we can make an impact on the world through non-material things. There are people who have inspired millions with their courage and determination, such as Martin Luther King Jnr, Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela. Before Mr Mandela became president of South Africa in 1994, he spent 27 years in prison because the idea he believed in - freedom - was not accepted at the time. But he never gave up and South Africa now has one of the most progressive constitutions in the world.

You can make a difference.
