Lingnan head upset by negative labelling

Lingnan University's outgoing head, Edward Chen Kwan-yiu, says the labelling of the university as inferior by secondary school educators continues to upset him. Speaking at a farewell gathering yesterday, Professor Chen said he was proud of his role in nurturing 'most probably the happiest university students in Hong Kong'. And he was glad to see his students were increasingly popular among employers. But he was annoyed about secondary school teachers and principals who told students that Lingnan was 'the last resort'.
