CBA 'not against' Yi playing for Bucks

Martin Zhou

Mainland sports authorities have denied they would prefer star forward Yi Jianlian to play for another NBA team rather than the Milwaukee Bucks who drafted him. 'Our sole priority is whether he would get enough playing time ... any team who are willing to give him enough opportunities on the floor would have our backing,' said Wang Du, deputy director of the Chinese Basketball Association. The remarks contradict earlier reports citing the CBA's reluctance to let Yi, 19, join Milwaukee who have struggled to secure a contractual commitment from the 2.13-metre power forward.
