A 13-year-old girl was in critical condition last night after she survived a plunge from her sixth-floor flat in Hong Mei House in Cheung Hong Estate, Tsing Yi. She was found lying unconscious on the first-floor canopy and initial investigations seem to show that she had tried to climb out of the flat window using a thin nylon rope. Police said the girl had been alone at the time of the fall, her older sister saying she had left the flat earlier, not knowing the girl was inside. The girl suffered multiple fractures and was taken to Princess Margaret hospital.
