World leader in footwear is looking for the right fit

A regional material manager is sought to focus on developing and sourcing new materials for the company.
'The role will provide great exposure to the latest material trends and market information,' said Donna NguyenPhuoc, manager, supply chain & retail at Michael Page International, which is handling the confidential search.
Candidates should have a degree in textiles or garments and at least seven years of working experience in the fabric field. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills will be assets.
'The individual will need to be creative and inventive in order to exceed targets and expectations,' Ms NguyenPhuoc said, noting that the company had about 3,000 employees worldwide and more than 60 staff based in Hong Kong.
Many companies were focused on R&D and new product innovation to achieve a more positive image and functional product performance, she said.
'Identifying and sourcing new materials plays an important role in the success of new product collections,' she said.
About half of the incumbent's time will be spent travelling to gather market and product information as well as to source and manage material suppliers, which are mainly based in the mainland, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
