Estate life celebrated in kid's art

EDUCATIONAL toys and $6,000 in book coupons were recently awarded to winners of the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) Children's Drawing Contest.

The contest, held in December last year, was aimed at celebrating the Hong Kong Housing Society's 45th anniversary, exploring children's drawing talent and increasing their awareness of their living environment.

The theme - ''Life in a Hong Kong Housing Society Estate'' - attracted about 200 entries in two categories: those aged between eight and 12 (Children) and the three to seven group (Nursery).

A grand prize, plus the first and second runners-up, were awarded.

The respective winners of the Children's group were Ng Pui-ying, Chiu Tin-yan and Wong Tsz-kuen.

The winners in the Nursery group were Chiu Pui-san, Li Kat-lung and Ng Yuen-lam.

Consolation prizes were given to Chung Mei-po, Chan Yip-keung and Tung Pui-shan in the Children's category, and to Lo Ka-ho, Wong Ka-yiu and Cheung Sze-ting in the Nursery group.

Winning drawings are now on exhibit at the Kwun Tong Garden Estate and will be later moved to Shau Kei Wan and Hung Hom.
