Classic Chinese embroidered works are on display at a shopping mall.

Made of Chinese brocade - a unique fabric woven with an elaborate pattern - many of the works were modelled on age-old garments worn by monarchs and royals.

Using ancient embroidery skills, craftsmen have weaved two replica dragon robes, official clothes of ancient mandarins, and brightly coloured tapestries.

Brocade-weaving masters have been invited to conduct workshops at the shopping mall.

Tan Xiangguang, 52, is one of the masters who have come to Hong Kong to introduce the classic art.

Tan picked up her first sewing kit more than 30 years ago and has been in love with embroidery since. 'My sifu [teacher] taught me all my embroidery skills. The delicate craftsmanship, beautiful fabric and exquisite designs made me fall in love with the art,' said the Guangxi native.
