Police are investigating whether a mentally handicapped girl abandoned on Shek O Beach was smuggled from the mainland. A swimmer spotted the girl, believed to be six to eight, wandering barefoot on Friday. Police said more tests were needed to determine her disability. The girl is 1.3 metres tall, with short hair, and was wearing black trousers and a pink T-shirt. Anyone with information should call 25952254 or 25952200.
