The first resort


Los Angeles-based label Isla Resort is hosting a private trunk show today. The Miami collection (right) features styles that can take you from day to night, including versatile tops, dresses and kaftans that can be worn in at least three different ways. Jewels in the town


Tiffany & Co has announced two new store openings. The New York-based jewellers are set to open a 2,500sqft store at the new Venetian Resort in Macau next month, as well as a 2,500sqft duplex store in the new Elements shopping centre in Kowloon station in October.


Prada gives back


Exclusive items selected by Miuccia Prada will be offered for sale as part of the brand's first online charity auction. On offer are dresses, skirts, bags, and shoes that have never been sold in stores. New additions will be added three times a week during the bidding period. Proceeds will be donated to charity Fondazione San Raffaele. Until July 25 at prada.com.


Back in business

Valentino buys Proenza


Having recently celebrated its 45th anniversary, Italy's Valentino Fashion Group has bought


a 45 per cent stake in American brand Proenza Schouler. The label's designers, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, tied with Oscar de la Renta for the 2007 Council of Fashion Designers of America award for Womenswear Designer of the Year.


Elbaz engaged by Van Cleef & Arpels


Designer Alber Elbaz has set his sights on jewellery. According to Fashion Week Daily, the Lanvin designer is working on a prototype engagement ring for Van Cleef & Arpels. The special order ring features a simple band with a pearl on top and a diamond on the bottom, which can be rotated. The ring will also incorporate a Marguerite flower, inspired by Jeanne Lanvin's daughter. It should be available in autumn.
