Name: Esther Moiloa

Age: 14

Country/City: South Africa, Johannesburg

School name: Redhill High School

Star sign: Leo

I am a shy and kind girl who lives in Johannesburg, the most populous city in South Africa. My idol is former South African president Nelson Mandela, because he's very courageous.

Without him, South Africa wouldn't be what it is today - everyone is accepted, no matter what colour they are. Racism isn't as prevalent as it used to be.

In school, I study English, maths, Afrikaans, life orientation, anthropology, music and technology. I spend about two to three hours a day doing homework.

During my free time, I usually stay at home to watch television, read books or listen to music. I also like playing netball. I often hang out with friends at Sandton City Mall. We go there to see movies, eat, or just shop.

I have friends in school and outside. My friends from outside of school live in my neighbourhood, Diepkloof, Soweto. The neighbourhood children spend a lot of time chatting together.

Sometimes I travel to Swaziland, where I have an aunt. I have a big family.

I live with my mum, a brother, two cousins, an uncle and a household helper. Everyone in my family looks out for each other and we love each other very much. I also have a pet dog, an American pit bull.

Each month I receive 400 rand (HK$453) as pocket money. I spend it on snacks at school and going to the movies.

I mainly eat rice, vegetables and chicken. I have to cook on days when no one else feels like cooking. I also have to help with the housework, such as washing dishes and sweeping.

I like my country because everyone can be an individual. For example, people are able to follow their own beliefs.

In the future, I would love to travel around the world so that I can see how everyone else lives and how different they are from South Africans.

I am not yet sure what my dream job is, because I am interested in a lot of things.
