Baiyun airport taps Germans to improve cargo handling

Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou yesterday signed an agreement on forming a strategic partnership with two Germany-based logistic companies, Schenker International and BAX Global, to improve competitiveness in international cargo handling, according to China News Service.

Bank tips 50pc profit jump

Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, a mainland lender 3.78 per cent owned by Citi, said first-half net profit could jump more than 50 per cent. The bank posted 16 billion yuan in profit in the first half last year, and expects this year's first-half figure to top 24 billion yuan. Nevin Nie
