Angered by company's Third World service

Lamma Island

I WOULD like to know if someone somewhere in Hongkong Telecom, can answer a simple question for me. Does its new performance pledge, cover areas, such as the Outlying Islands? I don't believe so.

I applied for a residential phone line on October 28, last year, application number LMA302789. Up to this day I am still waiting for any sort of reasonable answer. Over the last 21/2 months, my wife and I have called at least once a week, asking when we will ever be able to use our phone/fax machine again? The only sort of generic answer we receive, every time, amounts to ''Don't call us, we'll call you.'' After making our latest attempt at getting an acceptable answer, we have finally been told that we might get our line by the end of February! The last time I checked I wasn't living in a Third World country, so why am I receiving Third World service? There is a rapid growth in development of residential units on Lamma Island. It would have therefore made sense, for a company as large as Hongkong Telecom, to have a little forward planning, instead of leaving overhauls to the last minute.
