Famous Arch to to take it at last
By CHEUNG KI
I AM taking a bit of a chance with my best bet today but I have a feeling in my bones that Patrick Biancone's Famous Arch is going to return to form in the final event at Sha Tin. Famous Arch has been a force to be reckoned with in Class Three on his day and here he is down towards the bottom of Class Four. The key to him could be the removal of the blinkers.
I think he has been racing too keenly in the blinkers and has therefore failed to run home. Now that the blinkers have been dispensed with, he should be able to finish off his race that much more strongly.
His most recent trackwork has also indicated that he is poised to run better and the whole Biancone camp is now in so much better form - just look at the way that King Prawn blitzed his opposition on Wednesday night. There is likely to be plenty of support in this final contest for the likes of Splendid Feeling, who ran so well last time, and Bounty, who won down the straight 1,000 metres.
This should ensure that Famous Arch starts at big odds. My best quinella comes in the day's sixth event, the Centenary Vase over 2,200 metres.
I find it hard to see past a combination of Astonish, Fortune Leader and Fortune Duke. Astonish will be all the rage after his good first-up win over 2,000 metres and cannot be left out. Fortune Leader has been tackling the best all season around a mile.
while best of the others is Fortune Duke.
