Knifemen threaten anglers

Six men, believed to be illegal mainland immigrants, threatened two anglers with knives in Sai Kung Country Park yesterday. The victims were fishing on the waterfront at Mai Fan Tsui at about 10am when the group approached. The victims left in their sampan and called police at 11am when they arrived at Wong Shek pier in Sai Kung.

Bus driver punched

Police are hunting for a middle-aged man who assaulted the driver of a Kowloon Motor Bus in Tsuen Wan. The driver, 57, had passed a bus stop in Cheung Wing Road at 10.10am after failing to see the man. He pulled over further along. The man got on the bus, quarrelled with the driver and punched him. He forced open the door and fled. The driver was treated at Yan Chai Hospital.

Motorbike hits builder

A construction worker, 48, was seriously injured near a flyover in Kowloon City. A motorcyclist, 29, lost control of his bike on the Ma Tau Chung Road flyover and crashed into the site at 12.10am. He told police that he tried to avoid hitting a taxi. The motorcyclist was in stable condition and the worker was in serious condition in hospital.

Police motorcycle, truck collide

An officer suffered minor injuries when his police motorcycle and a truck collided in Hung Hing Road near the Causeway Bay entrance of the Cross-Harbour Tunnel at about 9am. In a separate accident, a minibus and taxi collided in Prince Edward Road West, Mong Kok, injuring the drivers at 7.50am.

Fresh meat seized at border

More than 24kg of illegal fresh meat was seized at the Man Kam To border checkpoint in the past two days. Customs found 10.7kg of chicken, 6.4kg of mutton and 5kg of pork in a mainland woman's baggage at 11.30pm in the arrival hall. Also, a Hong Kong woman was intercepted with 1.3kg of pork and 700 grams of chicken on Monday.

There was no winner of the first prize. The numbers were 16, 26, 30, 36, 41 and 49. The extra number was 13. Five tickets each won the second prize of HK$343,385. Third prize paid HK$52,025.
