The operator of the Western Harbour Tunnel will introduce a 12.5 per cent statutory toll rise next Wednesday, but drivers will be spared from paying more for now because concessionary tolls will be extended until the end of the year. It will be the sixth statutory rise since Western Harbour Tunnel Co Ltd took over operations in 1997, but there have only been two actual rises for motorists.
