Celebrate independence

The government is organising Malaysia's Official Golden Celebration Countdown to celebrate the country's 50th year of independence. It will include Malaysia International Fireworks Competition in the federal administrative capital of Putrajaya at 7pm until late every night from August 18 to September 2. Complementing the musical fireworks fantasia are a food carnival (free) at Lakeside Village and Global Funworld fair (ticket required). Packages are available for people who would like to secure the best views of the fireworks or watch them with a buffet dinner.
