2004 The High Court allows the reclamation to go ahead
November 11, 2006 The Star Ferry pier is moved to its new location
December 12 The clock tower at the old Star Ferry pier is demolished
December 14 Police expel activists who are occupying the pier. An activist is charged by police
April 26, 2007 Queen's Pier is closed. Activists from Local Action Group occupy the pier
May 9 Queen's Pier is graded as a Grade One Historic Building by the Antiquities Advisory Board.
May 23 Former secretary for home affairs Patrick Ho Chi-ping says the pier should not be declared a monument. The same day, Legco approves funding to demolish the pier
July 24 The government informs Legco that the pier will be demolished by the end of the month
July 27 Three pier activists go on a hunger strike
July 29 Secretary for Development Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor attends a public forum on the future of the pier
July 30 The Lands Department says activists are illegally occupying the government land - the pier. Activists are asked to leave by the end of the month
July 31 Local Action Group invites the public to gather and stay at the pier until midnight. Over 200 people join the protest
August 1 Officials from Lands Department issue a final warning to activists. About 100 police move in to clear the pier. Some activists scuffle with police as they attempt to get back to the pier. The hunger strike and protest ends
