Chemical firm seeks an Asia marketing manager

A world leading manufacturer in chemicals and polymers is calling for someone with a chemistry and management background to work in a new position as Asia marketing manager.

Lyondell Chemical's business includes propylene oxide and related products, ethylene and co-products and refining. The company needs someone with more than 10 years of experience in marketing, sales, business development or planning to help formulate marketing strategies to achieve business objectives and maximise profits.

The strong conceptual thinker and planner is expected to get market intelligence, identify market needs and opportunities, and assess product strengths and weaknesses.

It will be a chance for candidates to exercise their analytical and financial skills. The company wants a natural leader and presenter to help play a marketing leadership role and represent the company in complex joint ventures while gaining support from joint venture partners.

This person must be comfortable in a complex cross-cultural joint venture environment.

The incumbent's duties will also include identifying, developing and managing partnership programmes with customers, establishing and implementing regional pricing strategy and participating in the development of global marketing goals and objectives. Graduates in chemistry, chemical engineering or a related discipline plus an MBA degree are encouraged to apply. Strong communication and presentation skills in English and Putonghua are a must.
