Top marketing role for energetic team player

Self-starters looking for a chance to advance may want to apply for this job offered by Keysbond, a global organisation servicing high-end clients in the consumer electronics industry.

The company is seeking a merchandising manager in the wake of its expansion.

Working in the trading division, the candidate will assist the managing director by overseeing its overall operations, especially in the areas of merchandising, quality control and shipment co-ordination.

Other duties include product sourcing, price negotiation, quality approval and factory audits.

'This role is ideal for someone who likes to face challenges head on and will dare to try different things,' said Mona Cheung, executive director at Keysbond and managing director of the trading division.

Managing seven to 10 people, this team player must be aggressive, energetic, detail oriented, with good interpersonal and negotiating skills.

The candidate will spend 20 per cent of his or her time travelling in Hong Kong, the mainland, Taiwan and Germany.

A can-do attitude with an aptitude for problem solving was the key to success in this post because dealing with many manufacturers from the mainland meant that unexpected issues tended to crop up, Ms Cheung said.

The candidate must have at least 10 years of relevant working experience, a business degree with a focus on purchasing and supply or marketing, and English and Putonghua skills.
