Facebook's fun, but the calibre's odd

The Facebook.com craze has swamped Hong Kong, with the internet-savvy rushing to display their lives to the world on the social networking site. No-one seems to be quite sure why the site is so engaging, but then who can explain why yo-yo experts were held in high regard for a short period in the early 1990s?

Anyway, users are asked to post a profile photograph of themselves on the site as well as personal details such as employer, contact number and favourite activities. But LoDown has noticed a bizarre trend as he gathers friends and acquaintances - profile photographs with guns. Since when did deadly weapons become cool? This is perhaps ironic, too, since the site was where many Virginia Tech students first heard of the mass shooting on campus.
