The latest courses and new teaching institutions will be the highlights of this year's Australian Education Festival at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from Friday to Sunday.

More than 80 Australian universities, schools and vocational training colleges will take part in the exhibition which offers one-on-one counselling and advice to students and parents.

Australia is one of the most popular education destinations for Hong Kong students, with more than 9,000 choosing Australia each year. Sydney in New South Wales and Melbourne in Victoria are the most popular cities. About 150,000 alumni members of Australian universities live in Hong Kong.

Australian consul-general Murray Cobban said: 'There's a wind of change blowing through many of Australia's educational facilities as they address the changing needs and jobs of the next generation. They are regularly reviewing their courses and degrees to evolve with the changes in today's job market.' Nearly 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the festival. Admission is free.
