Li Kwan-yat, a 38-year-old jobless man, pleaded guilty in the District Court yesterday to one charge of cultivating cannabis, but denied two charges of trafficking in the drug. The court heard that customs officers found 268 cannabis plants weighing 8.2kg when they raided Li's workshop at the Veristrong Industrial Centre in Fo Tan on January 24. A further 2kg of herbal cannabis and 357 seeds weighing 5.57 grams were also found, along with 1.27kg of cannabis seized that day at Li's home in Fo Tan. The hearing continues today.
