Sunday's page 1 story 'Media blackout on mudslide disaster' and the editorial published on the same day incorrectly stated that Xinhua took five days to report on the Lushi county mudslide. Xinhua reported on Wednesday that flash floods caused by torrential rain on Sunday and Monday had killed 18 people in the county and left 57 missing.

In the report 'Party chief insists Shanghai will reap rewards from Expo' on page A4 on Monday, the name of Shanghai Party Secretary Xi Jinping was misspelled.
