A responsible care expert is on the shopping list of a leading methanol producer, Methanex Asia-Pacific. The search for a senior responsible care adviser is being handled by recruitment services provider Michael Page.

The role will provide leadership, vision and technical advice for responsible care in the organisation in Asia through presentations and delivering public seminars.

The incumbent will need to offer expertise to the company's customer service teams to resolve any complaints and prepare management reports on responsible care and ISO 9001-2000 information.

'The senior responsible care adviser will work in a challenging and dynamic multinational business environment, with strong growth predicted in the region,' said Ana Pun, consultant, engineering and manufacturing, at Michael Page. The company has more than 30 staff in Asia and 800 globally.

Ideal candidates should be experienced professionals with a degree in chemical, environmental or safety engineering, who also have qualifications in auditing techniques for responsible care and ISO 9001-2000.

'What the company is looking for is a natural leader with strong interpersonal skills who can influence external and internal stakeholders about the importance of responsible care,' Ms Pun said.

'He or she needs to be flexible and is a self starter who will enjoy working in a team.' Fluency in English plus another Asian language is required.

The right candidate will need to spend time travelling around the region.
