State of emergency

Fung shui principles apply to commercial properties as well as to residential ones. In an office or shop, for instance, no emergency apparatus - such as fire extinguishers, axes or water hoses - should be directly opposite the entrance, otherwise occupants will experience obstacles in their careers. Such items should be immediately relocated. The hooks and screws used to fasten them to the walls should also be removed and any holes or cavities left in the area should be filled in.

Also, the entrance to your office should not be facing the toilets, as this may adversely affect the health of staff members. Nor should there be any lifts, fire staircases, electrical fuse boxes or power rooms directly opposite the office entrance, as positive chi will be carried away in the first two instances and unsettling energy will enter in the latter two. Having a square or round pillar in front of your office door signifies obstacles for your business or work. In these instances, relocate your entrance or consider moving.

It is preferable not to move into commercial properties with entrances that directly face those of other units, as this may result in disputes. If this is unavoidable, ensure your entrance is not smaller than your neighbour's or more positive energy will enter his unit than yours.
