What is it?
A 45-minute aromatherapy facial.
What was the atmosphere like?
The room in Lane Crawford's Pacific Place massage pod is white and clean, if a bit cramped. It faces office buildings, and if a bored worker were looking out the window they could probably see in.
What was it like?
The therapist warms relaxing lavender oil in her palms and encourages you to inhale the scent to unwind. Then, your skin is gently buffed to remove dead cells. Instead of a traditional steamer, hot wash cloths are infused with aromatic essential oils to purify and cleanse. What sets this therapy apart is the gentle stretching and massage movements the therapist encourages you to do - from neck, shoulder and head rolls to deep stomach breathing. Chantal Lehmann, who developed the treatment, says the breathing exercises help release energy and create synergy between you and the therapist.
