Katsutani Takuji, Japanese electronics giant NEC's top designer, has put his stamp on a new premium notebook personal computer, the Versa E6310. The slim laptop has an NEC mirror logo on its leather-like cover and a chrome, blue-lit touch pad. It features media-player controls and users can access documents and spreadsheets, and perform file-search functions via the touch pad. Built-in dual digital microphone array technology allows users to subdue most ambient noise, enhancing the video-conferencing experience with the notebook's 14.1-inch widescreen display and two-megapixel Web camera. The Windows Vista and Intel Centrino Duo processor-based Versa E6310 costs HK$13,980.
