Hands-down winner of Subaru Palm Challenge gets a free ride

The Subaru Palm Challenge is back. If you think you have the patience and endurance to keep your hand on a car longer than 99 other contestants, then here's your chance to win a brand new Subaru hatchback. This kind of competition is quite popular in the US and this is the third time the Japanese carmaker is holding a Hong Kong match (as pictured in Causeway Bay last year).

This year, the motor company is offering one of its new Impreza models, worth over HK$130,000, as the prize. The challenge will take place on September 21 and 22 in Times Square. Last year's winner kept his palm on a designated spot of a car in the outdoor heat and humidity for about 18 hours.

This is in addition to performing numerous tasks required to test participants' stamina. Things they had to endure last year included standing on tiptoes for 40 minutes, holding a bottle of water in the air with one arm for as long as possible, and - for the last two contestants - holding a bucket filled with five litres of water out in front of them with one arm.

If you're crazy enough to want a free car this way, you can enrol yourself online at www.my903.com or call 2304 6072. Note the website is primarily in Chinese. Registration closes on September 16, and spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 100 entries. You also need to be at least 18 years old.
