Sign up for stardom and a challenging chance to take on the world in Rome

The urban jungle will be the setting for another new sports challenge this autumn.

Before the Central Rat Race on October 28 raises cash for the Mindset charity, another race called City Chase will be held next month.

Described as the largest urban adventure series in the world, it is an orientation race lasting four to six hours with teams of two that must perform a series of tasks as they navigate their way through the city.

In the past, teams have had to abseil down buildings, reverse bungee jump, dig through a container of worms, pole dance, or wax their legs (men only).

Teams get a sheet of challenges - known as ChasePoints - and they have to complete a minimum of 10. Basically, it's like the Amazing Race but in one day and one place.

Organisers are now looking for contestants to enter the Hong Kong qualifier. If you win, you'll be whisked to Rome for an all-expenses-paid trip to compete in the City Chase World Championships from September 27 to 30 against other international teams.

In addition, there are various prizes, as well as a chance to become a reality TV star as the races will be turned into a programme for the National Geographic Adventure channel.

There's a HK$1,000 entry fee per team and registration forms, which need to be in by September 7, can be downloaded from www.citychase.com.
