Tips on jobs, health, education

A youth website featuring career advice and a rundown of upcoming events in the fields of sports, culture and education has been launched by the government.

Targeting those aged 15 to 24, youth.gov.hk provides users convenient access to public services and tips on job-hunting.

The website was launched on the day the HKCEE results were released earlier this month. It includes information on the number of Form Six vacancies and application procedures. The government hopes the website would help ease the pressure on students who are trying to secure a Form Six place.

The site also boasts a career corner, where information on job interview skills and industry prospects can be found.

Students are advised to prepare a one-minute self-introduction and conduct mock interviews with their friends and teachers before they face their potential future bosses.

At the Job Kaleidoscope section, students get a glimpse of various industries, and qualification requirements and promotion prospects for different positions.

There is also a health corner which provides information on how to strengthen your body and fend off common ailments.
