Trafficker sent to treatment centre

A man was sentenced to a drug-addiction treatment centre for cultivating cannabis and trafficking in the drug. Li Kwan-yat, 38, pleaded guilty in the District Court to one count of cultivating cannabis and was convicted of two counts of trafficking. The court was told that on January 24 customs officers found 268 cannabis plants weighing 8.2kg when they raided Li's Fo Tan workshop. Officers also found 1.27kg of cannabis at Li's home in Fo Tan the same day.
