Subaru dealer Motor Image invites adult readers to register for its third annual Palm Challenge at Times Square, Causeway Bay on September 21-22.
'The challenge involves 100 competitors placing a palm on a designated spot on a Subaru Impreza [worth more than HK$130,000] for two periods, of eight hours and 10 hours, respectively,' says the dealer's spokesman, Marco Tsang. 'The contestants are given special tasks to perform during the challenge to test their stamina and entertain the crowds, and anyone whose palm moves from the designated area is eliminated. The person able to keep their palm in the designated spot for the longest time wins a new Subaru Impreza.'
'Registration closes on September 16, and spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis,' Tsang says. No superglue or feather-duster tickling is allowed.
Motor Image is also launching the Subaru Tribeca 3.0 sports utility vehicle for HK$419,000. The seven-seater (above) has a horizontally opposed, three-litre, six-cylinder engine capable of 245 horsepower at 6,600rpm. It's also fitted with a direct-control type electronically controlled five-speed Sportshift automatic transmission, all-wheel drive and lots of safety, from four sensor, four channel ABS with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), active headrests and front, side and curtain airbags.
