Hundreds of artefacts gathered from five continents will go on display from today at the Hong Kong Museum of Art in a collection on loan from the British Museum. The Treasures of the World's Cultures exhibition showcases 270 items, ranging from a 3,000-year-old Egyptian wooden coffin lid to a 13th century Arabic brass astrolabe - an early astronomical device - with silver inlay and a second century marble Roman statue of Dionysos.
