Insurer needs someone to build on momentum

The sky is the limit in this exciting opportunity to join a Fortune 100 company. New York Life Insurance Company is on the lookout for an associate vice-president, finance, for the Asia region. Recruitment agency Hays is handling the search.

'A highlight of the role is the unparalleled opportunity to add and contribute to the growth of New York Life in Asia,' Asia region chief executive John Harrison said.

'Anyone who enjoys a challenge and working in an international environment will thrive at our company.'

Based in the Hong Kong office and reporting directly to the New York head office, the CPA-qualified incumbent will oversee accounting and internal controls, and provide leadership.

'New York Life is experiencing extraordinary growth in Asia and there is a sense of momentum and excitement as the business expands and seizes new opportunities in the markets,' he said.

'It is a great career move for an individual seeking a challenging role in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.'

The ideal candidate must have 10 years of experience, strong United States generally accepted accounting principles knowledge and a strong grasp of the life insurance business.

Although, Mr Harrison said, there was no one 'best' personality for any of the positions.

'We assess all candidates according to their experience, attitude and ability to deliver. Professionalism, integrity, energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn quickly will be essential to succeeding in this role.'
