The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club will mark the opening of its season today with the gathering of 80 keelboats for the Long Beach Autumn Regatta in Victoria Harbour. 'It's the big opening where everyone's back from the summer and all the boats converge on the harbour,' said Warwick Downes, Rear Commodore (Sailing) at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. 'It's a fun event with a big gathering,' he said. The Long Beach Autumn Regatta is one of the Yacht Club's major events of the year with 11 different classes racing and the etchells, flying fifteen and sportsboat classes expected to be the most competitive. There will be one race this afternoon and two tomorrow.
