Kitchener is an expanding suburban area. It used to be a quiet city, but it's  becoming urbanised.

Unfortunately many of the stores are far from the city centre and take a long time to get to due to the  inefficient  transport system.

Usually the  summer is hot and dry, with heatwaves and sometimes smog.  We have very cold winters, so we have both extremes.

This school year (my last!), I'm studying advanced functions, calculus and vectors, AP English, biology, physics, chemistry, and religion. Although I study mostly science and maths, I really enjoy English and music as well. I find school  quite monotonous as we have the same schedule for a whole semester, which lasts for five months.

My first language is Cantonese, although I mostly speak English. I also speak a little French.

I sing alto in the school choir and play tenor saxophone in a concert band.  Outside of school I enjoy reading, surfing the internet, hanging out with friend, playing the piano, running and other  sports and games. I enjoy playing basketball too - probably because I'm good at it!

I listen to all sorts of music, although I do prefer music where I can hear the lyrics, even if I can't understand them. As for movies, I usually prefer comedies. I also watch action films - the thought-provoking ones - and thrillers, but I can't really handle horror movies.

As Canada is such a multi-cultural country, I eat a lot of different cuisines. In the past few days, I've had Harvey's fast food, Italian, Vietnamese and Indian.

I live with my younger sister,  my parents and our pet chameleon.

Christmas is one of the most important festivals here, but I don't make such a big deal out of it anymore because; it's become too commercialised in recent years.

We usually travel overseas during the holidays.  Otherwise we head to the beach and do outdoor activities.  We've seen quite a lot of the United States, including California, Florida, Vermont, Nevada, Illinois and Pennsylvania. We've also travelled to every province east of Ontario except Newfoundland.

I've also visited Hong Kong four times, most recently in 2004. I plan on visiting again next year because I think Hong Kong is a great place for holidays. There are so many exciting things to do and so many people!

However, living in Hong Kong would be a different story. I'm too accustomed to the comforts of spacious living and I doubt I could manage to find my way around!
