Hong Kong pair reach final

Hong Kong's Ko Lai -chak (pictured) and Tie Yana have reached the final of the mixed doubles at the Asian championships in Yangzhou, China. The pair beat Hyok Bong and Kim Jong of North Korea 7-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-7, 11-9 in the semi-finals last night and face Oh Sang-eun and Kwak Bang-bang of South Korea for the title today. Kwak was a member of the Hong Kong team before she married a Korean player a couple of years ago. In the men's singles, Ko and another Hong Kong player, Tang Peng, are through to today's quarter-finals.
