Jailed jockey returns to Australia
Australian jockey Chris Munce left Hong Kong last night and will be transferred to Sydney's Silverwater jail this morning under a prisoner-exchange agreement. Munce was taken to Chek Lap Kok airport in a minibus, accompanied by prison officers and two Australian correctional service officers who flew to Hong Kong to collect him. Munce was jailed for 30 months in March for his involvement in a betting scandal uncovered by the Independent Commission Against Corruption. The Jockey Club's inquiry into Munce's activities while riding here is in limbo, with stewards having not been granted interview access to the jockey.
