Design competition winners' success is divine inspiration
Budding designers Cheung Chun-hin and Wong Chun-mau from Po Leung Kuk 1983 Board of Directors' College have won US$400 in the FedEx Express/Junior Achievement TM International Trade Challenge.
Their winning design is a bag that was designed to meet the needs of the Muslim religious community. 'Arabag is a cotton bag, which can be unfolded and used as a prayer mat. It is decorated with Islamic iconography and has six pockets inside for keeping a copy of the Koran and other religious items.
'It was designed especially to meet the needs of Muslims. It saves time and is convenient, as they can carry everything they need for worship in one bag.' says Chun-mau.
Chun-hin says: 'We feel honoured and excited to win the competition as we thought the other teams did very well too.
'Through the programme, we were advised by business leaders and we were able to meet students from different parts of the world.
'We had the chance to trade knowledge and culture with them.'
