Mr Houston will be responsible for finance and infrastructure management services and public private partnership developments. He has been with the Jardine Group in Britain and Hong Kong for more than 14 years, with six years as finance director of Jardine Motors' British operation.

Alan Wong

Mr Wong has extensive management experience in multinational companies having introduced programmes that helped improve business processes, organisational structure, performance measurement and management practices.

Ian Carroll

Mr Carroll will oversee Turner's foray in new areas of business and will play a key role in identifying new opportunities for Turner to reach a wider audience in Asia. He will continue to oversee the broadcaster's content sales business and business development.

Mr Su will be responsible for the development of financial and market consultancy operations, as well as working with a team of consultants and analysts to spearhead key projects in the region. His primary role will be to provide clients with specialised services.

Claudia Schwarze

Ms Schwarze joins from the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel and Towers, where she spent the past five years. She had also worked at the Grand Hyatt and Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong, Regent London and Amanpuri, Phuket.

Mr Gomamoto heads the hotel's Japanese guest relations team. He joins from the Westin Resort Guam where he was Japanese liaison manager for the past year. Before that, he spent three years at the Westin Hotel Tokyo in the rooms division.

Kenny Chan

Mr Chan brings a wealth of restaurant experience to his new position as manager of the Harbourside, the hotel's all-day cafe. With more than 15 years of experience with the Cafe Deco Group, he most recently spent two years as operation manager for Top Deck at the Jumbo.

Mr Wageman is a seasoned corporate and commercial lawyer with extensive experience representing global firms, franchisers and advertisers in mainland businesses and activities. He has a strong track record in supervising lawyers giving legal advice to foreign and local investors.

Ms Tay joins from Kim Eng Capital, where she set up the firm's private equity arm. Before that, she was director and head of a corporate finance team that was responsible for originating transactions with Singapore, the mainland and Indonesian corporates.

Mr Barnes, president and chief executive of the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association, has been appointed to the council to advance Canadian interests in the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation forum.

Mr Dowle, executive vice-president of HSBC Bank Canada, has been appointed as a new representative to the council. Created in 1995 by the Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation forum, the council is a high-level business advisory group.

Mr van Paasschen has more than 20 years of experience with consumer-focused, global lifestyle brands. During his 21/2 years as president and chief executive of Molson Coors Brewing's largest division, the company increased its volumes, sales and profits.
