LingnanU to confer doctorates for achievements

Lingnan University is to confer honorary doctorates on four distinguished personalities in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements and contribution to the university. The ceremony will be held on October 16 when president Chan Yuk-shee is installed. Anglican archbishop of Hong Kong, Paul Kwong, and Hopewell Holdings chairman, Sir Gordon Wu Ying-sheung, will be conferred honorary doctors of law. Jennie Lee Mui Yee-ching, a council member of Lingnan University Hong Kong Alumni DSS Primary School, and Stephen R. Lewis Jnr, professor of economics at Carleton College, will be conferred honorary doctors of social sciences.
