Never one to shy away from using hyperbole for effect, Apple co-founder and chief executive Steve Jobs describes his company's updated iMac as 'the most incredible desktop computer we've ever made'. Beyond Apple's signature all-in-one design, the increased computing power and the glossy new widescreen displays, eco-mindful consumers are sure to notice the clutter-free iMac line has turned green - using highly recyclable and durable materials, including a scratch-resistant glass cover attached to the sleek, aluminium casing. The computer also meets the stringent Energy Star 4.0 requirements, which took effect in the US on July 20. The Energy Star logo on the computer means it meets power efficiency standards across all modes of operation. Prices for the 20-inch iMac start from HK$9,500; 24-inch models start at HK$14,500.
