HK storm into semi-finals
The Hong Kong's men's team reached the semi-finals at the team World Cup in Magdeburg, Germany, by finishing second in their group yesterday. Against China in the final group A match, Leung Chu-yan (pictured) scored an emphatic win over Wang Liqin, the world champion, in the second tie, but China still finished top of the group as they beat Hong Kong 3-1 overall. Hong Kong and China beat the other two teams of the group - France and Austria. Hong Kong will face South Korea in the semis, while China take on Austria. The competition features two singles followed by one doubles and then another two singles.
