Winners display drive and commitment to community

Six judges examined dozens of submissions in four award categories. Selections were based on community involvement and responsibility, advocacy, power and influence, as well as professional and entrepreneurial accomplishments.

In selecting the winners, Camille Tang, chief financial officer and co-founder of ConvenientPower and one of the judges, said the winners had created platforms that moved beyond their own profession and their own community to create space for others to improve lives.

Paula DeLisle, chair of the judges' committee and vice-president, international client services, Asia-Pacific for Watson Wyatt Worldwide, said: 'With these awards, we recognise those who 'groom and grow' future leaders. We are recognising women who make a difference within their community through their character and drive.

'Past honorees said they felt empowered as agents for change in their business circles and were able to create positive outcomes for their women colleagues. All of this year's candidates were outstanding, making the selection extremely difficult. The goal of these awards is to empower women in their work and lives. This year's winners have gone beyond accomplishing that just for themselves. Through their accomplishments they have given that gift to countless others.'
